We had our first budget meeting tonight to discuss the 2015 city budget that will total approximately $9 million for city services such as police and fire protection, solid waste and city streets. Throughout the year, a good mayor must ensure that spending does not exceed revenue, city services are not interrupted, and all bills are paid in a timely manner. As long as I have been mayor, weve always balanced the budget and paid the bills we owe. I can promise you that our bills are never stuck in a desk drawer unpaid.
