We had our first teaching event this morning with Rev. Alan Beasley. Todays topic was Discipleship. We learned that discipleship, while yes it is about our personal relationship with Jesus Christ and God, we are called to many things in the world. Jesus doesnt just call us to a relationship with Him. We find that we are called to do something; Matthew 4:19: Follow me and I will MAKE you fishers of people. Matthew 9:9: For I have come not to call the righteous but the sinners! We are called to die to ourselves and take up the cross of Jesus!! Rev. Beasley said that we need to remember one thing this morning; God mercifully peruses us for a purpose that cost us everything resulting in a reward much greater than the cost! We have to drop our nets, give away our fortunes and trust that God will provide! Tomorrow morning we will gather again at 9:45 at the Calvary United Methodist Church and have another teaching session. Tomorrows session, reaching the millennium generation! Dont miss out!!
