We had our volunteers in full action this morning. Festus needed - TopicsExpress

We had our volunteers in full action this morning. Festus needed to be picked up at Kims house and driven about 50 miles to see Dr. Doering and then driven all the way back for his continued isolation and fostering until after the holidays. Glenda was on this task in a heartbeat. The assessment of Festus is that he is around a year old and just an absolute sweetheart. The damage that has occurred with his left front leg appears to be very old and is radial nerve damage. Dr. Doering feels that it happened when he was a very young pup and was a very significant deep wound. The bad news is there isnt much to be done about it, the good news is that he does use it, and he has no pain whatsoever. He has a limp and probably always will, but other than that we are worming him and putting him on some antibiotics because he does have a slight cough. We are doing a heartworm test on him just in case the shelter didnt. Better to be safe than sorry. I look forward to meeting this guy after the first of the year. Thank you so much Kim for fostering him and Glenda for offering the shuttle service today. So much help that I am so appreciate of.
