We had quite a few people message the page asking for a commentary on this song - All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor. Sooo here it is. At first it sounds like an incredibly positive song about acceptance and body love - but then it whiplashes around and turns into the absolute epitome of the problem we try to address on this page. I think its great that the artist is trying to empower herself and her listeners - but I think it is very wrong that the same song - in fact, the same VERSE- that says my mama she told me dont worry about your size also says I wont be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll. So I guess Im ambivalent about the song. On one hand it really tries to be body positive, but on the other... Well, it sort of fails at its goal. Let us know what you think in the comments! ~A~
