We had quite a scare tonight. We were shopping at Academy Sports, looked around and realized Emily was not with us (again). I got in line to check out & Franklin starting searching for her (again), but he could not find her. Thinking she was just playing somewhere, I told the Service Desk we had a lost child. Wow, did they spring into action! They immediately called a CODE ADAM, guarded the exit doors and started a store wide search. After the first sweep, no Emily. They called another CODE ADAM, re-confirmed her description & continued to search. Associate after associated reported to the Service Desk that their section was clear. It seemed like they had been searching for a very long time, so I start to get scared. Trying to stay calm & act as normal as possible, I sent Franklin to the car with the bags (thinking I needed that stuff out of the way because the police would soon be called). A few minutes later, he comes in with Emily - she was hot & sweaty & crying. She said she could not find us & decided to wait for us in the van! I sorta flipped out and reminded her the rules about NEVER going outside without mom or dad. She replied "but I looked both ways..." I did not know whether to hug her or spank her. I was just in shock about what she had done. The Academy Sports team did a great job! They took the event very seriously.
