We had read about them, heard about them and even seen some of their performances on the internet but NOTHING could have prepared us for the sheer brilliance of the troupes performance this evening at the jam packed TATA Audi. Once Guruji Syed Sallauddin Pasha came onto the stage, he held the attention of the crowd with his powerful ideas, delivered with great force and verve, and then handed over the stage to the dancers of the Ability Unlimited Foundation to act out his ideas for the crowd to see. Calling what happened on stage spectacular would be a gross understatement. The dancers opened with a soft soothing Sufi number, displaying humanly impossible dexterity and agility. Next, the Bharatnatyam dancers with their immense skill left the audience spellbound and inspired. Then came the Yoga performance, with displays of strength and flexibility most of us could only dream of. The audience were then treated to their award-winning performance, where Lord Krishnas words to Arjuna from the Bhagavad Gita were enacted beautifully by the dancers. Swords clashed and sparks flew in the next act, as the spirit of the warrior possessed the dancers, who channeled their power with grace and beauty. And last, but by no means the least, they paid tribute to our motherland, to the melodious Maa Tujhe Salaam. At the end we were left with just one overpowering thought in our minds - The wheelchair is not a sign of disability, but of ability. We invite you to leave your comments and experiences behind on this thread so that they can be shared with people who were unfortunate enough to not be there!
