We had some unexpected news from the vet today when Chica went for spaying. They couldnt perform the procedure because she has serious jaw damage that keeps her fro physically being able to open her moth more than a tiny bit. Sine she eats small kibbles and has been gaining weight well we hadnt noticed. They didnt have enough room for the anesthesia tube and have now recommended MRI of the jaw and a much more complicated anesthesia for the spaying at a specialty hospital. They are also concerned that if she vomits she will aspirated...spayed or not...because she cant open her mouth more than about 1/4 inch. I have messages Jaxie Bastin Heppner for advice. She has been adjusting so well given all that shes been through. This is a worrisome setback. Most of you know that she was found abandoned inMiami, near death from starvation, and with serious injuries to her skull and eye.
