We had such a nice morning at Saint Johns Church today. We took - TopicsExpress

We had such a nice morning at Saint Johns Church today. We took time to honor the Saints of the church and we also took time to remember all of those church members who passed away this past year. There were thirty-two names read. I really enjoyed putting the music together for this service. I played Largo from Dvořáks New World Symphony for the prelude. I played Nearer, My God, to Thee arranged by Dan Forrest for the offertory. During Communion I played the old Sarum tune setting of For All the Saints followed by a very pretty hymn prelude of this setting by Wilbur Held. I closed the service by playing an arrangement of Ye Watchers and Ye Holy Ones also by Wilbur Held. All of the family members of those who had died during the year were offered a white carnation as a remembrance of the day. There were a few left behind. I asked if I could have one that had not been taken. I am including a picture of it in this post. I am tired after playing three services today but I feel very satisfied. I will rest for the remainder of the day. I hope that you have a nice Sunday too...
