We had to make a trip to the ER Vet (Small Animal Emergency - TopicsExpress

We had to make a trip to the ER Vet (Small Animal Emergency Services) with our little Bree Bree last Tuesday night. She apparently had a hypersensitive allergic reaction to an insect bite (ant/chiggers). She had trouble breathing & I was so scared... Thankfully, she is fine now!!! This episode has made me become even more prepared for an emergency. Childrens Benedryl can now be found in my Pet First Aid Kit! I will keep a Kit in the house & in my car. I will make sure that I know where the ER Vet is located when Im traveling and I will make sure that Vince knows, too! Our ER Vet relocated several years ago, but Vince wasnt aware of that...so, when we had to go the other night he was prepared to drive to the old location. I had assumed that because I knew the new location, so did he...my mistake! So, make sure that everyone who is responsible for your pets (family, friends, etc.) knows where the ER Vet is located & go over the Pet First Aid Kit with them. In addition to the items listed in the article, I suggest that you printout the CPR Guide (can be found in our Notes tab) and put it in the First Aid Kit, too. Be prepared for what you hope never happens...
