We hadnt signed Alden up for anything in (relatively) forever. But we felt like it was time to have more activities in the weekly mix, and talked to him about what he thought hed like to do. So for each of Christmas & birthday, we gave him an activity (session of lessons), and explained we wanted him to try. (try meaning 6 times.) Fencing was first. And, oh. my. gosh. It was awesome, perfect fit for right now. Focused, physical, special costumes, and, um, you get to poke another kid with a (flexible) sword?!?! And today, he had his first official fiddle/violin lesson. He loved it. And, as I imagined I would, I learned so much watching a trained and expert fiddle teacher at work. So, feeling very, very thankful for the resources our community has for kids, and for Aldens expanding world.
