We have 5 new police officers, fresh faced and ready to do business. They are all in phase one of their Field Training after 18 weeks away at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. Just like my Momma taught me....ladies first. It is time for the award winning (Don Pardo Voice here ) New Officer Interviews Officer Shannon Davis comes to us from the Gorham area. Let us get this show on the road. TC: How do you normally spend days off? SD: Watching Netflix and playing outside. TC: Why did you want to become a police officer...seriously, why? SD: Because it is exciting and you never know what you are getting into. Every day is different. TC: Anything else? SD: I really like knowing what I am going to wear everyday. Blue is in my color chart. TC: Nice. TC: If you were stuck on a deserted island , what are three things you would want and we have already provided food and water? SD: A puppy, my phone and a cell phone tower so I could use my phone. TC: How about a boat, no one ever asks for a boat. SD: It is against the law to operate a boat without a personal flotation device and I didnt ask for one. Simple. TC: How did you end up on the island? SD: My hot air balloon broke down. Going for a flight on a hot air balloon is on my bucket list, so apparently that didnt work out so well. TC: Makes sense. TC: What is the best advice you can leave your grandchildren? SD: You are in charge of your own happiness. TC: Do you have any grandchildren. SD: Seriously? TC: If I gave you 100 dollars, what would you do with it? SD: I would buy some groceries and Chai, then put the rest in the bank if I had any left TC: I hate Chai SD: You should try it again. TC: No. TC: Where are you from? SD: Many places. I was born in Virginia and then moved to Florida and then to Massachusetts. TC: I am so sorry. SD: I am not done. I then moved to Gorham,Maine. I would consider myself from Virginia but grew up in Gorham. TC: Top three favorite bands? SD: Tim McGraw, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line. TC: Do you like Frank Sinatra? SD: Does he sing? TC: Moving on. TC: How long will you last at the Bangor Police Department? SD: I dont want to jinx myself. I am focused on the next couple of months. TC: Why? SD: Because then I will have made it through the Field Training Program. TC: Good answer. TC: Best part of the Police Academy? SD: There was not a best part. I liked breakfast once they started to let us speak and even look around. TC: I like breakfast as well. We have much in common. SD: What is your favorite breakfast food? TC: My interview. TC: GO to the Chair of Truth to be photographed with the Duck of Justice. SD: 10-4. Shannon is assigned to Officer Dustin Dow for her current cycle of field training. He said she is doing a pretty good job. Shannon has already been the childs voice in phone calls while working under cover in several stings on travelers. What that means is Shannon has been able to bait in perverts that were looking to prey on children using her voice. She can sound like a middle school girl, which is not that easy for us to replicate. Especially me, I have to use helium and it never works. Shannon has also been involved working under cover in a recent sting in which a man believed he was meeting another female with intent to commit a crime. She is a great kid and willing to do work that many cannot. Thanks Shannon. She also is involved in martial arts and is a black belt. She can take care of herself. Using the magic of computer animation I was able to place Davis name on the high tech gadget recently installed in my office. I cannot believe what this thing can do. I was also able to replicate the image of Officer Dow standing beside Davis. All you need is a Magic marker. Incredible where technology takes us. Thanks for following our page. Davis, Dow and all the men and women of the Bangor Police Department, will be here!
