We have BIWTA, Mongla Port Authority, Forest Department, Bangladesh Navy, Coast Guard to manage the Sundarbans and its waterways. Really disgusted to see that they could not even decide on who would be the lead-agency to act first! They absolutely did nothing other than watching oil consistently getting dispersed all around! Finally a privately hired small vessel salvaged the sunken ship after two days of the oil spill in the Shela river! It could have been done immediately after the incident. We do not even have any single equipment to tackle oil spill nor have any love for the Sundarbans and its people. So pathetic!
