We have a Crown Flower plant growing in front of our house. Monarch Butterflies love Crown Flowers. Crown Flowers are related to Milkweeds. On November 18 a Monarch Larvae former a Chrysalis under one of the large leaves. Two days ago strong trade winds blew the chrysalis off of the leaf. I found it in the ground foliage below and took it in to show Mrs. O. She came up with a clip style clothespin which we clipped on the white fibers which had held the chrysalis to the leaf. Then I place it next to Sunnys cage in front of a large sliding door. Early this afternoon I went to check it our and the brand new Monarch has emerged from the cocoon/chrysalis!! I photographed it on the spot, had Mrs. O come out to see it and then took it out and put the clothespin on a check open to the outdoors. Eventually, I fly away, for it was not there when I returned to check it out. Judy Nelson McKee
