We have a Flash update. Its a tough update :( Flash appears to be blind. The car hit him square in the face and his jaw is broken. There is still a lot of swelling of his head. However, he has no internal bleeding and has passed the critical 48 hour stage. He is being fed via feeding tube and they need to put him into surgery asap. Its looking like, with surgery, he can survive. The owner of Flash has two very young, rambuctious boys and knows that she can t offer the quiet recuperative home and constant care that Flash is going to need to recover. The decision on whether or not to put him through surgery now lies on whether he can be cared for post surgery. A few of you have offered to care for him and we believe that blind cats can live very happy and long lives. The Animal Hospital has suggested that Flash would need a quiet home with a walled garden, where he could be outdoors, but safe. If you think you could look after Flash, please email us at [email protected]. Lady Dinahs would also love to home Flash, however were concerned that it would be too stressful for him. Blind cats rely heavily on scent-marking to navigate, and the scent-scape in the cafe is constantly changing due to new guests, our cleaning regime, even changes to our menu.
