We have a HUGE Earth Day planned this year! The event will be tomorrow from 9am to 2pm at MPC near the flagpole by the Student Services building! There will be free food and live music! Also, parking is free this day! Campus Clean Up! We will kick off the day with a Campus Clean up at 9am until 12pm. We have awesome prizes like Kleen Kanteen water bottles, gift cards, and more to reward people for participating! Speaker! We will have Marissa Mommaerts from Post Carbon Institute presenting: The Future of Humanity is at Stake: From Ecological Collapse to Community Resilience Learn how climate change, resource depletion, and an unsustainable economic system threaten Earths most vital resources. She will be speaking from 1-2pm in MPC Lecture Forum 102. She will be available for questions and book signing afterwards! Please see attached flyer! Music! We will have the awesome tunes from Casey Frazier again! Hell be performing from 11am to 2pm! He will have CDs for sale as well! Organizations! We will have electric vehicles being showcased by the Monterey Bay Electric Vehicle Alliance Fiats, Leafs, and more! We will have Green Pedal Couriers providing free bike valet, tune up, and bike blended smoothies! We have over 15 environmental organizations and green businesses coming from 10am to 2pm. They will educate and showcase what they are doing and why its important. As well as be looking for volunteers and potential internships during that time!
