We have a major storm heading here midweek that could cause significant problems so get ready! This could be the strongest storm we have seen in years! Check out the rainfall estimates.. quite impressive for one storm! Heavy rain may cause flash flooding especially since the ground is wet from the recent storms. Strong winds will arrive before the storm does Wednesday evening and they could take down trees weakened by the drought or topple power lines. The winds will make for rough driving conditions on the roads. We have a chance of thunderstorms on Thursday. This storm will kick up the waves so the coastal areas of the North Bay will go under a High Surf Advisory beginning tomorrow night. Theres a risk of rip currents. This storm will have colder air associated with it and that will mean heavy snow for the Sierra! Gusty winds will create whiteout conditions so I would recommend you wait to go up until the weekend when the storm passes and its safer. Youll see a timeline of when the heaviest rain begins.. it is during the Thursday morning commute! You still have time to prepare for the storm and keep you and your family safe by cleaning storm drains & gutters. It will be dry tomorrow with some fog in the morning, temperatures in the 50s and partly to mostly cloudy for the afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 60s.
