We have a number of no kill booklets on our web site to help you become familiar with basic concepts in a short period of time. One of the booklets is called There Ought to Be a Shelter Reform Law. As we type this, a law called the Companion Animal Protection Act (CAPA) is being advanced in Minnesota, thanks in large part to Mike Fry who was one of our speakers at our workshop we held in July. Our focus is on Huntsville and Madison County. At this stage, we are just trying to get the city to commit to following the No Kill Equation so that ours can become a No Kill Community quickly. This booklet is worth a look so you can learn how the CAPA may help us here. The CAPA need not be state-wide and we can adopt it for use here through ordinances and resolutions. That is what happened in Austin, Texas a few years ago. Just something to consider as we move forward.
