We have a question: Why should you be a member of the Kittery Art - TopicsExpress

We have a question: Why should you be a member of the Kittery Art Association? The answer was obvious on Friday night at the KAA Gallelry, where the First Friday Next Generation Open Stage went on to showcase the promise of young musicians because, you see, the KAA is the only art organization that supports both music and poetry as well as all the other visual arts. Over an hour and a half period, the musicians arose to sing, to play instruments . . . and their skill was extraordinary (even the smallest of the small made in incredible impression and earned a round of applause) . . . and that in itself is a reason to attend the next First Friday on December 5th. Kent Allyn was the man in charge, he introduced Marshwood High School senior, Lane Klossner and her protégé, next-door neighbor Silja Pope. Lane, who plays piano, guitar, uke . . . and sings, limited herself to the guitar. She has been in many theater productions at school and is a charter member of a rockin’ combo called The Girl Band. Silja played a guitar and sang, including one song that she wrote herself. Altogether, there were probably 10 performers, each with a unique presentation . . . but we have to tell you, it is impossible to be a photojournalist. You cannot be a reporter while shooting a camera . . . so this is what you get, some images of the night right here, with more on tap.
