We have a serious problem in our language at regional level, we cant afford to pretend as if we are one when regions are minding their own regional business: 1. The Mozambicans feel that the Xitsonga orthography of the morden day South africa did consider variant forms within the Zuma led South Africa only hence a lot about Mozambique is left out. it is against that backdrop that they cant identify themselves with the south African writing system of our language. Can we force them? No, but we can engage them. 2. The Zimbabweans with their Hlengwe brand feel a great number of them do not nasalise nouns hence when developing their writing system of the language they should be guided like South Africa by the Mugabe led boundaries of Zimbabwe hence the noise, some feel the regional Xitsonga orthography is not yet born. we can not suppress the revolt anymore. we have to open up. 3. Mozambique has moved a step in the contrary direction, they adopted a local orthography with a conjunctive writing system, a step away from Zimbabwe & South Africa. What is the way forward? We cant adopt resolutions on Facebook on behalf of the language boards of Maputo, harare & Tshwane. we are not independent of the republics we fall in. The Xitsonga International language conference attempts to bridge the gap. We want to address policy issues. We are addressing the governmentss position on our language through the vatsonga conference. If we agree as a whole no Mugabe, Guebuza or Zuma can dictate terms to our language. our home work is the preparation of presentation papers that can convince our language leaders who doesnt have Facebook accounts yet they occupy authority positions in language boards in our governments. lets aim our missiles to those people or else we will bark in vein
