We have a situation here. The good of the situation is that Carson is getting really good at drawing boundaries and expressing if he does not like something. This is a newer skill, especially his ability to verbalize it so very well. For example: Carson wasnt eating his dinner (Imagine that) so I tapped the side of his plate with my finger to get his attention. He got mad and told me not to do that. I made him say, Dont do that please, and we went on about our dinner. The bad part of it is that Carson hasnt learned how to express his dislike with something gracefully yet. Every time it comes out loud and whiny and forceful. So I try to stop him and make him say it again nicely and maybe after few weeks of practicing that his responses will be a little gentler. So on one hand I am applauding him for this huge progress and on the other hand I am figuring out ways to keep it from getting out of control. After all there are times hes gonna have to do what he doesnt like doing and simply asking please isnt gonna get him out of it. We will work it out. Its all a part of living and learning I guess.
