We have a small waterfall and pond in our back yard, we have a couple of yard ornaments that are racoons sitting on the edge of the waterfall, they have been there for several years, never being accosted or bothered until now! Lexie has decided that they need to be killed daily and immediately buried in the back yard. She captures them, throws them in the air, chomps them a couple of times to make sure they are dead then takes them by the tree stump by the back gate, digs a shallow grave for them then pushes the dirt and dead leaves over them. She does this to them one at a time, then rolls in the debris over their graves. With all the rain we have had she has come in more wet debris than dog! Its been several times a day, with brushing, wiping down, sweeping then taking a long nap to recover from saving the family from the coons while I have to go out and recover the bodies to return them to their place on the waterfall. This has gone on for several days until yesterday the poor coons had to take up residence on the porch railings. It never ceases to amaze me how much personality these little hounds have.
