We have a talented group of artists going. Im very happy with the turnout already. Im in no rush, I want to give everyone from Enriques thread a chance to get into the group. If you are in a rush or actually want pressure, speak up now. Monday or Tuesday I will post an appeal to the whole lightwiki group, in case people missed it in that long thread. If you have any suggestions on what I should say, let me know. Before we really get started I want to make sure we have some protections in place, as well as a delivery method. Once we do get started I will make the group private. (new members will be welcome, but I dont want some of this information public) Next week, if Steven Scott has time. I want to get with him and well setup a digital contract to sign. For my protection and yours. (if not I will use one of my more dinosaur-like methods for contracts) It will specify the following. An asset is any models, textures, rigs, animation, or other data. 1) If the asset is based on concept art already owned by Aeternus Studios, LLC. In that case the Studio owns full rights of any asset directly or indirectly related to the Studios concept art or described concept. 2) If the asset is based on your own concept, you will retain full ownership rights of any asset directly or indirectly related to your concept. Aeternus Studios retains the right to unlimited royalty free use of any related assets for the full scope of the Chronicles of the Expanding Universe project. 3) If ownership or copyright of the asset has any issues, disputes, or otherwise owned by a 3rd party, then we cannot use it or accept it. I dont even want it in my emails trash. It will make sure you keep owning what you own, and I keep owning what I own. In regards to #2, the studio needs unlimited use to avoid the lesson of Heavy Metal. (The animated movie from the late 80s for our younger members). Too many people owned the rights to various parts of it. Due to the numerous disputes, it wasnt released on video until someone bought all the rights before it could be released. If the studio is using your model far beyond the scope of this collaboration, it means we are at least partially funded or have a good cash flow again. At that point the studio will be likely hiring again, and I promise that if we are using your model and we are hiring then, depending on quality we will at least give you a trial run on 2 or 3 models, rigs, etc. If you have objections to this, I am open to discussing alternatives.
