Ambassador Guy Saint-Jacques—Canada’s previous Ambassador to China, appointed in October 2012—is giving a talk titled “A Perspective on China: One Year as Canada’s Ambassador” at the Asian Institute this week. Mr.Saint-Jacques has been part of the Foreign Affairs Department since 1977. He has served in Beijing, Hong Kong, Kinshasa, Washington and London—to name a few. At Headquarters, he has held a plethora of positions including: Deputy Director, Environment and Energy Division; Director, Assignments division; Director General, Personnel Management Bureau. Prior to being named Ambassador, he was Canada’s Chief Negotiator and Ambassador for Climate Change. He’s definitely a speaker not worth missing!
