We have a very old dog, Kiki. She has all these non-cancerous growths all over her body. One of those growths is inflamed and infected. It is on one of her hind legs. She has gone through a round of antibiotics, and it improved, but is still not healing well. Im back to giving her injections of penicillin. She is not in pain, but is, like me, a bit of a cripple. Tonight, I gave her a sponge bath, tried a different dressing on her wound, and gave her a special chew toy. I know she is nearing the end of her life. I want her to feel loved and pampered. Kiki was a rescue - when we got her 7 years ago, she was probably 6 or 7 years old, and most of her teeth were broken from being kicked. She was afraid of men, but John spent many hours with her, and now, she prefers John over anyone. (None of the critters prefer me, Im the one who gives them their shots. :( )
