We have all heard the phrase Kill em with kindness. But does it - TopicsExpress

We have all heard the phrase Kill em with kindness. But does it work that way? Can I really be nice to people who have hurt me? Or be kind to someone who is so hateful to me that I just want to punch them? I have to bite my tongue sometimes just to be polite. And then my polite usually comes across ugly. But, the bible says to pray for those who persecute us. What?! Pray for someone that treats me badly? Well thats completely opposite of what I want to do... But somehow when I pray for them, it somehow changes me. Maybe I am the one in the wrong in some cases. Maybe thats why it is so hard for me to pray for them. How can praying for them be good for me? We are supposed to love one another as God loves us. If we see each other like God sees us then we see the hurts that others are going through. Maybe thats why they are so awful to us. Maybe they are put in our lives because we have the prayer that will help them. Maybe my specific pray over that person will help them in some way. I am bad at jumping to conclusions quickly. I dont know what shoes people are walking in. I dont know what situation may have brought someone to the place that they are in. I need more compassion and less impulse. If you know me then you know that I am really going to have some trouble with this one. I can sure hold a grudge and I am very defensive. Father help me. Lord You are the only one who sees people from inside out. Help me not to only see the outside. Help me to be more compassionate. Give me strength because this will be hard for me to do on my own. In Jesus name, amen.
