We have all heard the story of Joshua fighting the Battle of Jericho. If you grew up in the church, you might have even learned a song or two about it. It is a popular story that many are familiar with, but there is alot to learn about how God worked on the Israelites behalf. Joshua was leading the Israelites into the promised land and it came time to take the cit of Jericho. They arrived at Jericho only to face a great city. It didn’t look good for the Israelites but God gave Joshua explicite instructions. God told Joshua to march around the city for six days and blow horns, but the people were to remain quiet. Read it in Joshua 6:1-6. This sounded crazy. Im sure those Isreaelites were thinking, How are we going to defeat this city, but not fighting? But fighting wasnt in Gods plan. God had a plan that was to bring HIM glory without a shadow of doubt. We read that on the seventh day they were to march around the walls of Jericho seven times but something different on the seventh time around, they were to SHOUT. I dont believe it was just a little shout under their breathe, but it was GREAT SHOUT OF PRAISE!!! After this final shout everyone would realize that GOD would receive the Glory. Joshua 6:20 says, So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they TOOK the city. You might be reading this post and you have an obstacle in your way that it looks like there is no way to get around it, BEGIN TO SHOUT AND PRAISE GOD because that obstacle may appear that it cannot be moved, but we have a God who takes care of HIS people for HIS glory and concentrate on what Mark 11:23 says, For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall NOT doubt in his heart, but SHALL BELIEVE that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Be Blessed!
