We have an ongoing epidemic of young people that turn to the darker things life has to offer. Like you and me, we go to people who accept us, love us, encourage us and tell us we have value with them. Kids that are shunned in the social arenas that be, gather and comfort each other. I find that often, they are interested / talented in art, many of them using their faces and bodies as canvases. Rejected by the louder peers, they become bitter and think life is a joke. Youll find kids that get bullied are moving in those circles as well. If you and I were rejected, you might find us gravitating to those who think we are A-Okay. We do, dont we? His word never said to pick. His word says to love unconditionally. In Genesis 24 Jacob gives Rachel a nose ring and gold bracelets hoping she would marry him. Just saying. The only way to love is to stop profiling, realize none of us are any more or less loved by God, and start loving these rejected & hurt kids. We cant even begin to understand who and what potential may lie in them. I was powerfully rejected growing up. I know what its like to be shunned. I bet most of us do. Lets rethink how we think, lets reach out, lets appreciate, lets give others a reason to love life. And for those of you who already do, well, thanks so much! :)
