We have another fire at the head of Sloughgrass. John discovered it started in a coal seam when he fell in the hole up to his knees. Chuck said the threads on the bottom of his pants were still smoking when he got there. This is the third coal seam fire in the area in the last three or four days. Id say that these have been smoldering since our big fires two years ago.Coal seam fires can burn for many years. Its like reliving the same nightmare over and over. The summer has been terribly dry this year. Last year we had a lot of moisture.
