We have been contacted by the organizers of this years WINDJAMMER DAYS PARADE held in Boothbay Harbor on Wednesday June 25, 2014 at 4pm. It was shared with me that many of the residents and businesses miss the motorcyclist / bikers that use to come each year. Special consideration has been given to our participation in their parade, by putting us at the front of the procession and providing us a parking lot for us to park in. (This will minimize the concerns we have with too much clutching or overheating). A Shuttle Service will be made available as well to take the Motorcyclist into town where HERRINGBONES PUB & GRILL will be putting together a menu with special pricing for participatiing motorcyclist. The Shuttle will be running until 8pm. On a more personal note, I think it would be VERY COOL!!! if Ride Organizers that weve ridden with in the past 6 years would show up proudly displaying the cause they ride for and to show the folks lining the streets just how many different causes the motorcyclist in the State of Maine support. In 2008, there were 2 rides to anticipate for the majority of us, STONEYS LOBSTER RUN & THE UBM TOY RUN. Now there are up to 3-4 rides a weekend, throughout the Riding Season. Stoneys Lobster Run 2008 was the very first episode of RIDIN STEEL. I initially set out to document this ride on video and share with people on our Local Access Station which broadcast in the Bath/Brunswick area. As I was editing the footage, I realized that the motorcycle community was in need of the positive exposure that I/we could provide. It was also important for the awareness that was much needed for the many different causes they rode for. Since 2008, we have covered hundreds of rides and met thousands of people and we now have an invitation to go back where it all started. I hope you will consider joining us on this day. Its gonna be special and I know wholl be on my mind that evening. Please share this with everyone you know that rides.
