We have been getting a few questions regarding why we recently changed our bunny housing set up. Both set of buns (Mr. Toes/Cleo) (Suzy) were in x-pens, but Cleo was not handing being in the pen very well with her tilt (head tilt bunnies need a lot of room or they will tumble a lot). We noticed a big difference with her being out for our time vs being in her pen. So we took down the pen, & put it across our living room as a fence (the door is in a place where we can get back & fourth easily). So on one side of the fence is where Cleo & Mr. Toes now live (with an abundance of washable pee pads as Cleo isnt wanting to use her litter yet (but since we moved her out of the pen shes doing much better). Suzy still has her pen & still goes in there when we are out or asleep. We cant let her run free like the big bunnies because where she is a splay leg bunny, she does need certain padding for her joints (& her pen is fully set up for that - it would be impossible to make her side of the room fully padded). But she does get lots of time out - dont worry :) & once she reaches a year old, we will be trying to bond her with a friend. She needs to be spayed first (which will be in Feb) & you are not supposed to bond bunnies until they are a year old - as bonds made younger can cause problems as they mature. The 1st pic is Mr. Toes & Cleos living space & the other two pics are Suzys play area.
