We have been roundly criticising Modi government for many things - TopicsExpress

We have been roundly criticising Modi government for many things in its 30 days in office.. Much of the criticism is deserved. But we are also criticizing on things that we should not criticism on. That is bad judgement. Here are some arguably good decisions of Modi government that we should avoid criticising. 1. Reversal of retrospective taxation. Retrospective taxation decison was a body blow to investment climate. It caused many other investors to hesitate to invest in india. And then various ministries of UPA played ek garam ek naram over it and extracted bribe from vodafone. I have seen many in aap criticising its reversal. Bad judgement. 2. Removal of GOMs.. 3. 4500 crore package to bhutan.. Now just think.. with China at your heels, do you want China to set up cities and ports in Bhutan, like they did in Sri Lanka. It is well known that China has a String of pearls strategy against india.. They want to encircle india from all sides. The package to bhutan is a smart strategic move, or even a stay with us package ... whatever u call it. Unnessecarily criticising it is bad strategy. 4. Unnecessarily criticizing opening up of economy -- this gives more fuel to people who have been made to believe that aap is a party of leftists and maoists. Now frankly right now people want corruption to end long term, but as an immediate priority, they want jobs and economic growth. By criticising economic liberalisation too much we sound like Aam Leftist Party of India, which we are not. AFAIK Please understand that arvind kejriwal is in favour of economic liberalisation and selective FDI. He infact wants lot of competition in every sector-- which can only come by opening up the economy. We as aapians are doing a very poor job of communicating this to common man. So to conclude, please be selective in your criticism..
