We have decided AGAINST getting a turtle. she may get it without me knowing and not wash hands..Will not take the chance. I remember having one as a kid but I dont remember all the hype about it. . Thanks for all the advice folks. What does anyone suggest. My boys had hamsters but they too start smelling and you have to clean cages so often, plus the cats will destroy it. Had bird, noisey lil creatures they are, plus have to clean up after all the time. Do not say puppy or kitten because I already want both of those but I have to live with Donnie too and he is totally against either
