We have decided to discontinue producing our Arts & Crafts - TopicsExpress

We have decided to discontinue producing our Arts & Crafts Festivals. This is a bittersweet decision that has been under consideration for a number of years. Bitter because, together with everyone who participates in the Festival, we have created a wonderful event, one recognized far and wide as top tier in its class. Sweet because we have arrived at a point where we are poised to realize the implementation of a master plan we commissioned. The Festival has helped us raise funds that were much needed to grow the experience of visiting Oak Alley and pursue the fulfillment of our mission. It is time for us to focus on the future development of Oak Alley as an outstanding antebellum house museum, which will mean magnificent grounds, gardens, new structures and exhibits -- all to better interpret Oak Alley’s history. Those of you who were here for the Spring Festival will understand that we cannot accomplish that goal and continue to expose the property to the damage that Mother Nature can wreak on these grounds over any given Festival weekend. So, it is with sadness that we say goodbye to one achievement and anticipate another in Oak Alley’s future. Heartfelt thanks go out to all of you who have helped us come this far. We’ve made some great friends along the way and hope you’ll stay close to us. We know this will be a disappointment to our loyal attendees, but we trust that it is the correct decision at this turning point in our development. Thanks to all for helping us to “Hold fast to that which is good!”.
