We have entered into a holiday season that we look at in many different ways. Some look in away of receiving gifts from family members, boyfriends/ girlfriends, spouses, and friends and coming together in a traditional fashion. But some of us growing up look at this holiday as receiving gifts from a big fat man in a red and white suit carrying a big red bag of goodies. Not knocking your traditions, not knocking on how you grew up look at this holiday season which is fine and dandy. But we as Christians and children of God have to remember this holiday is not about us. We are looking at this holiday and season in the wrong way and we should be ashame of ourselves for doing so. This holiday and season is about a man who came down from His Fathers side in Heaven as an infant child wrapped in swaddling clothing and laid in a manger. But later on down the road as He grew up starting from the age of 12 all the way to the age of 33 preaching the gospel, healing the sick, opening blind eyes, raising people from the dead, and doing miracle after miracle, prophecing about His own death in different ways. Being judged by His own people, beaten half to death until you couldnt realize Him, placed upon across, pierced in his sides where water for baptizism and blood for our sins, transgressions, sickness, pain, suffering, you name it and died on the cross. To be taken down from the cross wrapping in garments and placed in Joseph tomb temporarily just to rise three days later with all power in His hands. Brothers and Sisters, Men and Women of God this holiday is about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and we are not to forget that. So as we open gifts, eat dinner, and celebrate this holiday with our family and friends. Let us remember Jesus is the Reason for this Season. Amen!!!
