We have had a couple of complaints regarding parking tag issuing by patrols to people who are parked on the wrong side of the street during a block sale. Please understand that there is alternate side parking on many streets because the streets are not wide enough to accommodate parking on both sides. We do not grant easements for block sales. It is a fire/safety issue. When a fire truck or patrol car cannot quickly respond to a call because of backed up traffic from illegal parking, it is an issue. Officers do their best to warn violators to move their vehicles, however, it is ultimately up to the driver of the vehicle to obey the signs that are clearly posted. Rule of thumb: do not park on the wrong side because other people have, you may get a ticket.
