We have had a lovely email and Charon wanted us to share with you her story Dear Mark Just a note to say thank you for all your advice regarding the serious and rather concerning issue my veterinary practise had recently created for my normally healthy French Bulldog, Marley As mentioned via the telephone to you I live in Scotland and when I purchased Marley from Durham his previous owner strongly recommended I continue his diet on Millies of Wolfheart. I did this religiously and NEVER had any issues with Marley having loose sloppy stools Each time I took Marley to the local vets in Aberdeen for health check up, boosters etc the subject of his diet was continually raised. Even though Marley was 100% fit and healthy, the practise would recommend that there was no need to feed him Millies as they deemed this an unknown brand of food. The vet kept promoting the benefit of the long established Hills brand After many conversations I thought the vet must know best and felt almost guilty that I was going against their advice so I bought their Hills Vet Essential mini kibble and carefully followed the transition feeding instructions given to me...... The results were HORRENDOUS! Within a matter of a week, things went downhill, my healthy dogs perfect stools started to get looser and looser and after 4 weeks things were not improving. I contacted the veterinary practice several times who then said that they could offer intolerance tests! I said that my dog was completely fine on Millies but that the head vet had suggested the change to Hills and therefore I was not paying for tests when I knew putting him back on Millies would resolve the matter I was given a refund and they strongly recommended now gently switching to the Burns brand. This was SUPPOSED to be the solution and yet it made matters even worse! Marley had gone from a lively energetic happy dog into a lethargic sad one, he was exhausted, drank water constantly all the time and his stools a loose watery smelly mess which stuck to his fur I had, had enough. I called the Practise Manager at the vet practise and pointed out how furious I was at the advice both the Vet and Head Nurse had given me. After looking at the diet composition of your Riverside mix and both Hills and Burns I was horrified to find I was suggested to try brands that were in no way similar to the Millies diet, even though I showed my vet at the start of all this what was in the Millies riverside mix Anyway.... I was refunded all monies paid for the food that almost caused Marley to be hospitalised and I took control of matters and immediately ordered your Riverside mix.... Marley after a matter of weeks started to recover and after a month is back to his former, muscular happy, bouncy, energetic self. I cannot thank you and your product enough. Please see some pics attached Thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving my precious little dog Kindest regards Charon Hanlon Aberdeenshire It is lovely to see Marley back to full health and to hear their story isnt he a adorable!
