We have had such an amazing last few weeks!!! We started by going up to NYC for the Tunnel to Towers 5k. Flip did the whole thing in his wheel chair without any help and our friend Fred even joined us! Then we went up to West Point to visit with friends and Flip taught a class! After a whirlwind turnaround back in Bethesda, we flew up to Seattle to find a place to build our forever home. It was so wonderful to see our old friends and be back in the PNW! Flip got to go back to visit his old unit and the guys were so wonderful. Special thanks to firefighter Dean McAuley for not only taking the time to show us land/properties, but for his friendship and kindness as well. Once we got back to Maryland, we were surprised with even more support and kindness. Theresa Marshall, of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 255 out of Fultondale, AL, brought us a beautiful set of new cast iron pans and took me out for a kitchen accessory shopping spree! It was such a wonderful experience, and it was so great to learn about the Auxiliarys history and mission. Saturday, we had a great sushi class/lunch with our cousins! So much fun!!! And finally, on Sunday, Flip and I both did the Army 10 Miler!!! I ran and Flip used his handcycle. We had a blast with the other Warriors and our friends who participated. Now were gearing up for a half marathon in Gettysburg at the end of the month. As we near my Heros 2nd Alive Day, he just keeps proving how unstoppable he really is. #soproud #teamflip
