We have it too easy in the United States, how much are you willing - TopicsExpress

We have it too easy in the United States, how much are you willing to sacrifice for your personal beliefs? Im probably not a very good Christian even by my own standards I am way short of the mark I know I could live up to and dont even try to. But I now believe after years of failing to be good, being a Christian isnt about a list of dos & donts I can never live up to anyway. Its about how we treat other people. Jesus himself hung out with the most despised sinners and showed them love and even provided for their needs. In fact the religious elite were always criticizing him because of this. Did you ever wonder why he hung around the losers? Because Jesus said, Where there is much forgiveness there is also much love. Where there is little forgiveness there is also very little love. People who live very moral upright lives find it hard to understand and accept Jesus or appreciate the mercy God shows to those who are repeated sinners like me. Like Paul of the bible as well. They tend to be judgmental towards BIG sinners and compare themselves to them. Not realizing to God there is no such thing as a big sin or a little sin its all just forgiven sin or unforgiven sin. There are just believers or non-believers. The difference is, believers KNOW they have been forgiven for a very lot of sin and this causes them to naturally love Jesus more. Unbelievers wont know anything until judgement day when they find out they cant get to heaven on their own good behavior or great personalities because at the end of the day, they all love and think of themselves more than they could ever love and appreciate Jesus. I am reminded of a poster I saw in California that read, God first I prayed for justice, then I remembered myself and prayed for mercy. Yes mercy, I need all the mercy I can get because Im the bad girl. But I choose to forgive, lots of love...
