We have neglected to post this weekend as it has proved to be a busy one for us. So to start us off the 4 horses escaped in the middle of the night which started a county wide horsehunt by 5am Friday morning. What initially looked like a disaster turned into a 2km walk with horses in tow back to their designated yard. Apparently the grass was greener down the road. Saturday was filled with tusk and hoof trims for one Very, Very, VERY large potbelly pig named Mortimer whom will be joining the sanctuary as a resident in the near future (updates to come on him!). Sunday was more hoof trimming, pig house cleaning and a complete chicken/Turkey coop rebuild and makeover. Even managed to convince my partner in crime to climb a tree and retrieve the perfect branch for our updated hen house :). It is now perfect for the remained of the winter until they move into the barn. Had a couple visitors out over the weekend so the pigs could get in their daily dose of bum rubs and finished it all of by bringing Lucys sister Phoebe In for her enjoyment and company. Calvin has also decided to eat twice his weight in horse hay and pass out accordingly, so for now, goodnight and hope you were all as busy and got the most out of your weekend :)
