We have nothing to celebrate on Eid: DAK Srinagar July 26: President Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Dr Nisar ul Hassan today said that we have nothing to celebrate on Eid as we are not even allowed to express our free opinion. “I was victimized for raising issues of public concern. I was punished for unearthing spurious drug scam and spearheading a campaign against fake drug perpetrators who are roaming free. My endeavors in this connection deserve to be applauded rather than unleashing subjugation against me”, DAK President in a statement issued to Sachnews said. “My suspension is vindictiveness of certain forces behind the curtain and is simply means to deter me from raising voice against legitimate grievances. The suspension is unjustified and illegal as it is ironically against freedom of speech which is my inalienable right”, the president said. Kashmir is under siege and Kashmiris are in a state of constant fear, the president said, adding that how can we celebrate Eid at a place where freedom of thought is criminalized, dissent is treason and criticism is espionage? He said how can we celebrate Eid when our loved ones are languishing in jails for demanding end to the miseries of Kashmiris? We have no reason to celebrate Eid because Muslims in Gaza are slaughtered in a well-planned conspiracy, the president said, adding that Kashmir is an unfortunate tormented land where on Eid grief stricken people instead of celebrations have to mourn.
