We have nurtured an evil philosophy of BigMan-ism and selective - TopicsExpress

We have nurtured an evil philosophy of BigMan-ism and selective ethics for long decades now. We have accepted, as sustainable, a systemic rot in our culture and cosmology. Now we are seeing a new dimension of the same disease. I hope we will have the courage to address it systemically - and explicitly - as we move forward. THERE IS NO PUBLIC HEALTH CURE FOR lack of integrity in the face of fear, for lack of caring for your fellow man - even your own family. There is no preventative POLICY SOLUTION for PERVASIVE SELFISHNESS. People who will put hundreds of their fellow men to great risks, or even their own family members. On the other hand, authorities must now make sure that THE EVERYDAY AFRICANis assured that they will have the basics of good health care, the basics of survivability the basics of human/hospice care should people suspect they have the illness. Years ago, the great cities of the Western Europe came face to face with scourges that wiped out millions and forced a new ethos and cosmology. The great cities of Western Africa (and Africa) do not have to wait for our own version of such things. We have history as a teacher. This is very fairly distressing news because it is systemic (people keep behaving this way - running and spreading the disease), and as far as I know Rivers State government is not Lagos State government. I hope the civil service (rank and file) is populated by people of conscience, courage, creativity and consistency. Our people will need all of that now. PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.
