We have our first dog, a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy coming to us in Massachusetts from Colorado in about two weeks. The breeder has so far been feeding the dogs kibble (I looked up the brand ingredients and was pretty disgusted). My husband and I want to start her on a raw diet as soon as possible, so naturally Ive been doing a lot of research. Ive already decided that we will start her cold turkey on the raw diet and know that we are supposed to start with one protein. My question is this, has anyone else switched a puppy from kibble to a raw diet? If I start with chicken, should I start with just one cut or should I do some chicken breast meat and a raw meaty bone like a neck or back? Also, what about organ meat, when should that start? She will be 8 weeks old when she gets to us.
