We have published numerous blogs about lawyers engaging in unprofessional or illegal conduct. In many cases, such lawyers have been severely reprimanded, or even lost their licence to practice and criminally prosecuted. But what if a lawyer who had committed crimes were to become a Magistrate. Surely it couldn’t happen, right? Unless it were for ‘political reasons’. Our latest Blog post looks at one case where there is speculation that a lawyer who was found guilty of tax offences in 2012 may be appointed as a Magistrate.
