We have restored over 25% of customers knocked out by the storm, and have restoration times for those still out of power: Fort Wayne Area – 90% restored by midnight tonight, fully restored by 6:00 PM tomorrow Elkhart Area – 95% restored by tomorrow evening, fully restored by 6:00 PM Thursday South Bend Area – 95% restored by Noon on Friday, fully restored by 6:00 PM Saturday Three Rivers Area – 90% restored by Noon on Friday, fully restored by Noon on Saturday Buchanan/New Buffalo Area – 90% restored by 6:00 PM Thursday, fully restored by Noon on Friday Benton Harbor Area – 90% restored by Midnight on Friday, fully restored by Midnight on Saturday We apologize for the delay in providing restoration times. We wanted to wait until assessments allowed the information provided to be as accurate as possible. The assessment process involves our employees patrolling lines, investigating damages, and reporting all of their findings to be mapped out in our systems. This allows us to make the best plan of action to restore our customers. With the heavy and widespread damage this storm produced, the assessment process is much more grueling. Trees are down everywhere, lots of wires are down and we have many broken poles. It is a lengthy process. There are a total of 900 local and outside resources working on the restoration effort including. Outside resources are assisting from Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Indiana. We assess before making most restorations so the external crews can hit the ground running, which is the fastest way of getting everyone back on.
