We have the MOST amazing children. They truly are a blessing and the laughter they birthe is like the cherry on top. Last night, as we were attempting to blow up the neighborhood, our neighbor came out and started on a tirade. She was absolutely furious. She demanded we stop and was on her phone trying to call metro. I talked to her calmly and got her to calm down. We ended up going inside and it began to rain. It kinda left a sour note but I tried to explain to the kids she had recently lost her husband and that we should be extra understanding of her feelings. Maybe she was so angry because that house was all she had left of her husband and the thought of it accidentally burning down was just too much for her to bear?? So we left it at that. This morning we got a knock on the door and it was the lady. She came to apologize with tears in her eyes. I felt horrible. I assured her we werent offended and that she had every right to be upset. I told her that if she ever needs anything, even just company, to let me know. Later on the younger boys woke up. This is the conversation we had. YAE: I think that lady was a little bit mean they way she talked to you last night. And its not appropriate to be arguing in front of kids, right Mom? ME: Well, we know her husband passed away recently. Sometimes, hurt people behave in a hurtful way because their hurt is just too much for them. She actually knocked on our door while you guys were sleeping. She said sorry and she cried. Im sure shes a very nice person and shes just really sad. YAE: She did?!? What did you say? ME: Yes. She did. Well, I told her we are neighbors and neighbors are there for each other. And we know she just lost an important member of her family so if she ever feels like she needs some family, to come knock on our door and we can be family for her. I told her sorry that we added to her stress and that we arent upset with her at all. BAM: Well, if she needs, I can actually just stay with her. Its just across the street and I can make sure she has no more tantrums. Like when you help me calm down... Ill tell her shell be ok and to breathe before the neighbors call the police because they think someone is being abused because im screaming so loud for no reason. I dont want a grandma to go to jail for having a tantrum. LMAO!!
