We have the best job in the world. Every day is interesting. Producing crop for weekly picking, protecting from frost, transplanting seedlings into heated shelters, covering crop to prevent freezing, cleaning out rooms in the farm service building ready for repurposing, looking over various perennial fruit crops in preparation for bringing in a field crew for clean-up and pruning, renovating the herb garden, checking over our over-wintered crop to see that it is developing OK? or if needing attention for bearing crop in the later winter or early spring. When to prune blueberries, grapes, apples, pears, apples (what to keep and what to remove and replace). Life is never dull and always challenging.... Thanks to our farm friends who visit us at our Farm Store on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and Nanaimo friends who shop at the Nanaimo Indoor Market on Wednesday afternoon. Nice market.
