We have the same here in Pembrokeshire. SCBU has been closed from earlier this month and transferred to the next county, paediatric ward closing and A&E closing overnight. All under the guise that experts say its better for us. Yet we have so many instances of peoples lives being saved at our local hospital (Withybush GH) and within a crucial time frame where they would not have reached the hospital in Carmarthen. Labouring mothers who would otherwise have given birth at the side of the road but now only low risk pregnancies will be admitted to the local hospital for delivery at a midwife unit with no obstetrician. So one quote I have read is that we no longer have a National Health service, but an Urban Health service. Our facebook page is Save Essential Services at Withybush.
