We have to cultivate positive political emotions. Folks see politicians as representations of there own self identity. This is a given in a representative democracy.There are universals that we have to uphold; equality, love, appreciation of human expression, respect of human dignity, love, empathy, togetherness, shared goals, discourse to establish a reality that represents the panoply of all stakeholders in our community, and protection from harmful emotions. We have to transcend our own egos and selfishness and our immediate circles, as well as our own social milieus, to see and compassionately consider the entire forest and not just the trees growing next to us.
