We have to keep the camp safe.. Sandy is an experienced activist - TopicsExpress

We have to keep the camp safe.. Sandy is an experienced activist and she asked that we check into people who come into the camp. We know most the local activists and a lot of people from the aboriginal community, but others who hang around or people that are joining the camp have to be questioned. Our biggest concern is keeping the children and women safe. Intoxicated people we have had a couple and asked them politely to leave, theyre more than welcome back tomorrow I tell them and in the morning when your sober come by have something to eat and visit us. This isnt like the occupy movement and as First Nations we protest as a community, our elders, women, children and our men, and our peacekeepers conduct themselves accordingly to our protocols. As far Harpers mundane survallence and the police, they no place in the camp either, that kind of thing only brings more distrust from the activists and the aboriginal community, that already distrusts the police and govt to begin with. So the police arent welcome inside the camp at all. There is no need to be here, this a peaceful protest and it will remain that way.
