We have two matches at Hell in a Cell that can be booked as the main event of the Pay Per View. On one side we have John and Randy Orton, two of the most decorated superstars of our generation with a staggering 27 world title reigns between them. On the other side we have Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, the most hated heel and most beloved face respectively in the company and the potential future of the WWE. As much as I respect the legacy of John Cena and Randy Orton and regardless of how significant their main event status is to the continued success of the franchise, I believe that this pay per view is the perfect time for these two legends to pass the torch on to the stars of tomorrow. Putting two new fresh faces in the main event may not be best for business in the short run but it will act as an investment for the long run. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are yet to reach the heights of popularity that Cena and Orton have enjoyed for years and the Hell in A Cell Pay Per View gives the WWE officials the opportunity to shed the global spotlight on Ambrose and Rollins. They need to make us, the WWE Universe, get used to seeing these two on a regular basis in the main event and even if they dont draw the ratings initially, they will do so eventually if booked properly. Basically, Ambrose and Rollins are the two names that should prompt people to buy tickets to the arena and subscribe to the network. I know that most of us will take the Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins main event match for granted but let me put this scenario into historical perspective. When was the last time two WWE superstars, who have never held the world title, put in the main event of a Pay Per View? Beats me. For the first time in perhaps a decade, or even more than a decade, we have have two young superstars who are exciting, entertaining and talented enough to fill up the main event spot and push the likes of Cena and Orton down the card. A Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins main event will truly usher in a new era in the industry. Gone will be the times when we almost always expected the current champions or the former champions to hog the main event spotlight. We can now hope to see superstars main event pay per views solely on the basis of their quality in the ring and the entertainment value of their feud. With guys like Reigns, Bray Wyatt and Rusev lurking in the shadows, it wont be too long before WWEs Pay Per View success is independent of Cena or Ortons performances. A Rollins Vs Ambrose main event is a gutsy move, one that it will hugely disrupt the revenue centered direction of the WWE creative team. Theres a world of pressure on the shoulders of these two young men and they may not yet be ready for the limelight. However, it begs the question, if not them then who? If not now then when?
